We intentionally keep our calendar limited to maintain the quality of the property and provide a peaceful experience for every guest. Our goal is not to host the highest number of visitors—it is to provide an exceptionally clean, comfortable and dependable place where respectful guests look forward to returning.


This is a privately managed country property — not a high-volume vacation rental. We intentionally host only a limited number of guests each year and prioritize longer stays for respectful working professionals and mature travelers. Because the property is rural, all booking inquiries are carefully reviewed before acceptance.

Secluded and Quiet

Set back from the main road, you’ll have all the privacy you need to shut out the world…reinforced by a locking gate and a 1/8 mile of a shared driveway. You’ll start to feel the weight of the world lift off you as you gaze up at the night sky and hear nothing but the local coyotes call and the crickets sing you to sleep.

Better than Any Roadside Hotel

 With the energy sector and training sector in the area, we have plenty of long-term stays for work. Protect your equipment, your automobile, and your sanity by staying in a place that feels more like home and less like you’re living out of a suitcase. 

Get Outfitted by the Locals

Growing up in the area, we know several local landowners & outfitters for traditional and exotic hunting & who the best fishing guides are on Choke Reservoir. Give us a call before you book and we’ll see if we can get you in for a hunt, a guided fishing trip, or access to the beautiful wildlife areas of South Texas.  (Many have to be booked months in advance.)

Please Note

Please note this is a true rural South Texas property. Guests should be comfortable in a country setting where native wildlife, uneven terrain, insects, and occasional snakes may be present, as is common throughout the region. For this reason, the property may not be the best fit for small children.

Great place to relax and feel at home after a long hard day. We stayed there while working and it was 1 million times better than any of the hotels in the area in EVERY way!

"Hideaway is a home away from home... they've thought of everything you'd possibly need for a perfect stay.  If you're looking for a place to truly unplug, but with awesome WiFi if you need it, you're here!  From the kitchen that's ready to cook up anything you feel like to a spacious but cozy dining area with after-dinner games included, wine on the back patio around the gorgeous firepit, under the South Texas Stars.  You can wrap up the night in a Bubble bath in the claw foot tub before sinking into the fresh-smelling smelling extremely comfy beds.  You're set up to start the next morning off just right with the well-stocked coffee bar as you sit in serenity watching the deer and birds from the covered front patio.   The Schulte's have created an environment with just enough instructions to allow a newcomer to easily navigate the home, amidst all the little comforts and check-ins, to make you truly feel right at home.  This is a must-experience for any traveller who just need to recharge!"
